Located just a stone’s throw from Killybegs pier in south west Donegal is Shines Seafood. Owned and run by John & Marianne Shine along with their daughter, Ciara Shine, this successful seafood business invites visitors for an educational experience in Irish seafood. With the largest port in Ireland on our door step and Irish waters providing an abundance of fresh Irish fish daily, this experience takes visitors into the heart of life in Killybegs and tells us all about the wonderful fruits of the Irish Sea that surrounds our stunning island.
Let the fresh sea air and scents of the ocean welcome you into the Shines Seafoods indoor experience and get your taste buds excited. From the moment visitors enter they will be amazed to discover the delights that the Irish fishing industry have to offer. Be baffled that Irish Tuna, Sardines & Mackerel exist right below your nose.
After an exciting introduction to the Shine family, their range of Irish retail seafood products and an education in Irish fishing , taste the difference with Irish Tuna, Irish Mackerel and Irish Sardines and learn about the key differences between these and your average supermarket grade products. Prepare to be intrigued by the fascinating information that surrounds the most basic of products we consume every day.

- Wheelchair accessible although we are on a hill so there is a steep incline/ decline surrounding the entrance.
Here at Shines, we understand that things don’t always go to plan. In light of this we have tried to make our cancellation policy as user-friendly and fair as possible. If you need to cancel a booking, please try your best to do so 48 hours before your booked time slot. This will allow us to re advertise the slot and give someone else the opportunity to visit us.
- Cancellation 48 hours prior will give you a 100% refund.
- If you have to cancel 24 hours before your time slot, we will give you a 50% refund.
- Cancellations after this time cannot be guaranteed a refund. Should you need to cancel 24 hours or less before your booked time slot then you must contact us directly by phone.
- No shows will not receive a refund.
